Research Lab Computer Science
Computer Science as an interdisciplinary nexus
All students at RLHS will study computer science (CS) as a standalone subject, integrated into their other courses, and as a skillset which catalyzes university-school relationships. Through framings such as digital civics, digital humanities, and data science and modeling, CS will transform and unite existing disciplines rather than becoming the center of attention.
As a student:
- You will take an introductory computer science course during your tenth-grade year. This course will be connected to your other academic courses.
- You will have the option to continue taking advanced computer science in 11th and 12th grades, potentially including AP computer science, which provides college credit.
- Some students will have the opportunity to use their CS skills as research interns at UB and other organizations during 11th and 12th grade.
